4th of July

Large Baby Watermelon

Do you see yourself in this darling picture? Of course we all do. It is a hot 4th of July day. You have feasted on ribs, hamburgers or hotdogs. And then the topping to the meal, an ice cold watermelon. Sweet, sticky, juicey meat to the masses. You gotta love it. Everyone of all ages can in enjoy this fruit. I will eat my share this Indpendence Day.

Oh, how I remember those days when my kids were young and would sit on the back deck, spitting watermelon seeds. Yes, as we become empty nesters or even grand parents, our purpose changes a bit. But that's ok with me...I've cooked enough holiday menus to suit me just fine!
