My New Year Resolution for 2008 is "SORT-ORGANIZE-THROW AWAY". I feel like my house is growing on top of me. Everywhere I look there of piles of junk. Most piles are made up of things that we no longer have a place for. My family cleans out their car and everything goes in the garage. I clean the garage and they fill it up. My husband love to order on the internet. We have a steadie stream of packages delievered daily. Some of them get put downstairs until he remembers that he ordered them. Weeks later he will ask, where is this? Or did I get something from Amazon? His idea of cleaning his office is to put boxes of stuff in the unfinished side of the basement. Do not get me wrong. I am just as guilt. The guest bedroom is my storage place or the dining room. I will buy something for Fla. or the next holiday and in the guest bedroom it goes. I can close the door and not think about it. Out of site, Out of mind. The kids use the living room for their dumping ground or the top of the landing going up stairs. They will also climb over piles of their stuff that I put on the stair to go up stairs. I do keep the family room and kitchen pretty pile free except for the magazines. They add a comforting decorators touch. A fashion statement. HA! The girls just have tennis balls, toys, chewies, little blankets and dog beds everywhere. I also have a wonderful angel from heaven who come 2 day "not 1 but 2 days" a week who tries to clean. Sometimes I do not how she does it. But she can make messy piles look like neat piles. Heaven forbid if she should ever one day throw her hands up in the air and quit. The girls meet her at the back door barkings and growling, jumpint up on her legs, attacking. She laughs and reaches down and pats them.
You should by now be thinking to yourself that you will never visit the house of mess. The only good thing I can say about it is that it is clean. Thanks to my Angel. So back to my New Years Resolution, SORT-ORGANIZE-THROW AWAY. This will also require taking the piles of junk somewhere. Did I mention that I hate garage sales.
To keep myself on track, (you remember the 50 words and wandering mind), to keep myself on track I will post a monthly upday on SORT-ORGANIZE-THROW AWAY. Hopefully by 2009 I will have a less cluttered, more organized house. (This could requie moving and leaving everything behind. Start over.)

Chere, loved the little kids story. How cute is that? I've also got to get my house organized. I have way too much stuff hanging around. You should see my pile of magazines in my bedroom. You can donate them to the hospital or some doctor's offices. I usually take mine with me to the doctor when I go. People love to take them home to their houses.
What an awesome idea Judy! I never thought to donate my old magazines. I just throw them in a pile in the garage and Jason burns them up along with all the cardboard. I've been working on keeping our house neat and tidy since January. This is not easy to do with the boys, but it's so nice to leave a neat and tidy house in the morning. I love walking through the door at night knowing I don't have a huge mess to take care of! Good luck Chere!!
marlee told me to read and bookmark your blog... and I too need to do the uh... CLEAN SWEEP... :o) let us know how that goes. :o)
