Great Week-End

It has been such a great week-end. We left on Thursday on our way to Savannah. We spent the evening and next day with Dusty. We are still looking at places for him to live.
We have narrowed it down to two. One they want to much money for and needs a lot of work. Of course that is the one that Dusty wants. The other one is perfect almost move in ready and an easy resell. That's the one he does not want. His choice is condo number two or live in a dorm. I will take a poll as to which one he chooses.
We left Savannah and are now in Fl. I have enjoyed taking pictures. I am really excited about Photoshop CS3. It is a new program that I am ready to dive into. It is amazing what you can do with a photo with this program. I can't wait.
I saw these weeds while driving back from Tallahassee. What are they? Help. I took the golf cart back up to take these pictures. What I didn't do was spray myself with bug spray. I was snapping pictures and getting eaten alive. I was rushed. Anyway can't wait to see what can be done in Photoshop. These were taken in a portrait mode with a 28-300 lense and a circle polarized lense filter. I wish I had zoomed in a little closer. I may retake these pictures this afternoon with bug spray on.

I have manged to get these pictures posted in a werid formatt. I guess I need help with placement also. Hope everyone has a glorious day. Enjoy that spring is here and have a great day.

Yesterday was a great day. Dusty and I left Fayetteville early on our way to Savannah. He is a student at SCAD or Savannah College of Art and Design. Dusty has just finished his second quarter and did very well. After finishing his first year at Western Carolina he transferred to SCAD. He loves it. He loves the school, classes and Savannah. Better know as the "The Jewel of The South". It is such a beautiful city.

We have been looking for a place for him to live since August. He is a sophomore and almost 22. After living in Germany for a year, it has been hard for him to live in a dorm with 18 year old.

We have been looking at a condo on Broughton Street. After looking at rentals, that are as much as a condo payment, we are making an offer on his condo. Broughton Street is the street in Savannah. With bars, shopping, food, the SCAD library and everything for a young man of 21.

Now we have to wait for the response on our contract. I hate waiting.

Dusty and I enjoyed the day together. I always love talking to him. He was a little lost on the process of buying anything in the real estate market. He said "Mom, I haven't owned anything since I was 4. Maybe you could explain this to me." This whole process is going to be a great learning experience for him. It's fun to share with your child growing into an adult.

Yesterday was a great day.

I'mmmmmmmmmmm BACK

Sorry guys that I have been away so long. Things have been great and also in a whirl wind for me. Where do I start. First of all Fred and I have just returned from an 8 day cruise to Panama, Costa Rica and Belize. We went with good friends of our "Sylvia and Mark Shugart. We had the best time. I got to go through the Panama Canal. It is truly amazing. I will write more about our trip later.

Second, we have workers all over our house. The men from our shop a putting in new windows and siding. The new garage is almost finished. The screen in porch additions is almost complete. The new Trex decks are finished. Fred outdoor kitchen is finished. And the landscapers started today. So far they have cut the phone line this morning and the cable this afternoon. The phone is fixed but the cable will have to wait.

Third, Dusty and I are going to Savannah tomorrow to look at apartments. He is doing so well in school and he needs his own place. We are leaving in the moring. It will be a long day but a fun one. I love spending time with him.

Well, this is just a little update as to where I have been for the past two weeks. I feel like I am rush, rush, rush and hurry up, hurry up and hurry up.

Addictied

I am a Scrap Book Addict. I admit this therefore I am not dangerous. They say that people who have a problem and are aware of it and admit it are not dangerous. This statement is not Dr. Phil, but plain old college Psy. 101. Fred and I left Fla. today with beautiful bright skies, the temperature was 81. What a day for the beach. I wanted and longed to attend my Scrap Club meeting tomorrow. So we drove home. One Sunday of the month 4 other friends and myself meet for a day of laughter, fun, lunch and of course scrap booking. That always seems to be the week-end that my Honey wants to go to Fla. This time I said fine but we leave on Thursday and return on Saturday. He agreed before we left. I have missed my club meeting once before because of his trips to Fla. This time I stood my ground. But even wanting to go to my meeting it was hard to leave. See, If I was queen of the world I could wave my magic wand and fly back to Ga.. I would then go to my meeting. Then poof, back to Fla. I would go. Maybe you should check outside your window sometimes. That shop may get my magic wand fix one of these days.

Boots and Panties

Like that title? Well, there is a story. My darling husband called yesterday at 10:00 and asked if I could be ready to go to Fla. in one hour? What? Yesterday was my day to do laundry. I know I hate it and I let it pile up. All my jeans were dirty. I was out of town last week-end. Give me a break. So I put on the cleanest dirty pair to wear and grabbed two pair that needed to be washed. We do have a washer and dryer in Fla. Off we go. As I was riding down the road, I kept noticing spot on my jeans. When we got here last night I changed into PJs and loaded my jeans in the washer. Fred kept asking "Whats that noise?". "Are you washing clothes?" We also turned on the ice maker and it added its tune to the noise. After a great nights sleep, waking up to a beautiful spring morning that was warm and nice, I got in the shower. Before the shower I had to take some pictures of the white egret on our dock. I showered, dried my hair, brushed my teeth and went into the bedroom to dress. I put on my undies and pink t-shirt and then it dawned on me. Where are my jeans? Of course in the dryer, wet. What's a girl to do? I had my underwear, shirt and my brown UGG's. So for the next hour I have been wearing my t-shirt and UGG's. Do I feel like Kate Hudson. I can pretend that I have those nice shapely legs that she has. I do have the blue eyes and blond hair. Two out of three is not so bad. You guys should try it someday. The UGGs are great. If you do not own a pair you need to. But, it's the Kate Hudson part that is the most funny. Anyway my jeans will be dry soon and it will be back to the Queen of the World. And as Queen of the World I can do anything and be anything in my own mind! Have a fun day.

Help Pick a Color

I have been working really hard to get my scrapbook room in some kind of order. I am going to get Fred to build me some built ins to house everything. Now the big question is what color. When I started my scrapbook area it was already painted and was ready to go. Now I want to repaint and redecorate just for me. The question is what color or what color combination? I need your help. The cabinets will be white. I need a wall color and one or two accessory colors. Please help.

Fred and I left today to run down to Fla. to check the work on the house. We will be back on Saturday. I have to be home to go to my Scrap Club Meeting on Sunday. I can not miss it. It's Jamie's birthday. I am really looking forward to it. I told my honey that I had to be home one Sunday.

Let me know what you think on color.

Missing N Action

Yes, I have been missing from blogging. I was out of town with Cousins, Aunt, Step Mom and new friends for the week-end. We rented a motor home a drove to Mississippi to gamble. We had a great time. I met some of the nicest people. We gambled, ate, drank, talked, laughed and all of the listed all over again. Betty hit the Jack Pot on a nickel slot machine. She had 100,000 nickels or $5,000.00. They came and paid her on the spot, fifty 100 dollar bills. Then she won $1,000.00 on a penny slot machine. All on the first night we got there. We always have so much fun on our girl trips. We call our trips the "G3". "Girls Gotta Get Away" Anyway the trip was great. It is always fun to shake your life up a little bit.

I am still working in my scrapbook room with "Sort, Organize and Throw Away". My new paper towers are up and all my paper is sorted and filed. My Basic Grey collection took up one tower and one tray on the next one. I love the towers. My paper looks so neat and organized. I may even use it. I want to order another "Clip-It" to store all my clear stamps on. I need to find a place where I can see the top ring. As I am sorting, I am thinking about what cabinets I want Fred to make for me. I want to really put so thought into it. I need for every inch to work.

Hope everyone had a great and fun week-end. I have to get my lay-out for this week done. Lots to do and so little time. "I'm late, I'm late for a very important date. No time to say good-bye, hello. I'm late, I'm late, I'm late" from Alice in Wonderland. My Mom used to say this all the time.

Hook On Pioneer Woman

I admitt, I am hooked on Coffessions of a Pioneer Woman. My dear scrap friends have turned me on to the blog. This blog could put Barnes and Noble out of business. Ree, (Pioneer Woman), started this blog in 2005. From listening to scrap friends I had to go back and start from the begining. Her life and story is wonderful. Ree's talent for writting is spell binding. I could sit and read for hours. I can't look at this blog during the day. I would spend the whole day reading. She is also a accomplished photographer. Her pictures are amazing. She has shared with us her use of Photoshop. We are all looking forward to her new blog on how to use Photoshop. I can't wait. I may have to figure out a way to strap my lap top to my head. The subject of her husband "Marlboro Man" is a post all it's own. You guys need to check this man out. He, his pesky brother and all his fellow cowboys are worth a good pant. I tell you, check it out. I wonder if she ever gets "Marlboro Man" to wear his chaps naked. Check it out! That's a question for "Ask Ree?". I have found myself at 2:00 AM reading this blog. Last night I was just about to fall asleep reading. If you do check out Confessions of a Pioneer Woman at least go back to Sept. 6, 2006. That's where she starts telling the story of how she meet Marlboro Man. She will rename this story "Black Pumps and Tractor Wheels". Make sure you finish your latest novel before you log on. You will not want to stop. Promise.
